This current work was supported by the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (Grant number RGPIN/05305) to Richard Oko at Queen’s University, along with the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative Competitive Grant number 2023–67015-39262 from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, Animal Breeding, Genetics & Genomics Program and seed funding from the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources of the University of Missouri to Peter Sutovsky.
