: The collection of bronchial and nasal epithelial cells, as well as their study to investigate the mechanisms of transepithelial ion transport and the response to CFTR modulators, were specifically approved by the Ethics Committee of the Istituto Giannina Gaslini following the guidelines of the Italian Ministry of Health (registration numbers: Comitato Regione Liguria ANTECER 042-09/07/2018 for bronchial cells and CER: 28/2020 for nasal cells).
