The isolated lung monocyte/macrophage par of the study was done from lung tissue samples from patients undergoing surgical resection for lung carcinoma at the Foch Hospital in Suresnes (France). In line with the French legislation on clinical research and as approved by the investigational review board, all the patients gave their informed consent for the use of resected lung tissue for research.
