: The animal protocols were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of the University of Barcelona, as stated in Law 5/21 July 1995 passed by the Generalitat de Catalunya. All experimental procedures were performed in accordance with European Community Council directive 86/609/EEC, and followed the ARRIVE and the standard ethical guidelines []. Accordingly, all efforts were made to minimize the suffering and the number of mice used. The study followed the Declaration of Helsinki guidelines for biomedical research involving human subjects. The Institutional Ethics and Clinical Research Committee of Cantabria approved the study (internal authorization code PI21/00084). All patients were informed verbally and through printed material about the nature of the study and provided written informed consent.
