: According to Danish legislation, ethical approval from a regional research ethics committee is not required for register-based studies that do not involve biological material or direct patient contact. Therefore, formal ethical approval was waived. Approval for the use of data was obtained from the Legal Department of the Central Denmark Region (journal no. 1-16-02-89-25), and the study was registered with and approved by the regional data protection authorities in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
