: The study was part of a larger study on pelvic floor disorders that received approval from the Ethics committee of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (reference number- 17/08–18) and Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (refence number—HS368ES). We received site approval from all participating sites. Participants’ privacy and confidentiality were ensured by using codes during data entry and not the names. The study utilised routinely collected clinical data from women managed as part of standard care during fistula repair camps. As this was a retrospective review of patient records, no additional consent for research or follow-up was obtained.
