For tissue samples taken from the pathology archives, an exemption from the informed consent requirement was granted, as the samples were anonymized and collected as part of routine diagnostic procedures. For blood samples, written informed consent was obtained from from the Bakioua Hematology Laboratory prior to sample collection.
