: Positive reference urine samples were obtained from an observational study, approved by the local ethical committee (Comitato Etico Lazio 1, Prot. N2377 dated December 13, 2018), on two subjects suffering from either type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus and already receiving treatment with recombinant insulin (respectively, insulin lispro and/or insulin degludec) administered by subcutaneous injection. Written consent was obtained from the patients for inclusion in the study.
