: This study was part of the SEAPOP programme (), which is financed by the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment via the Norwegian Environment Agency, the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy via the Norwegian Research Council (grant 192141), and the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association (now Offshore Norge). The work at Muddvær, Vega, was co-funded by Stiftelsen Vegaøyan Verdensarv, Vega Verneområdestyre and the County Governor in Nordland through the Norwegian Environment Agency. There were no conflicts of interest. We obtained permits to work in the colonies from the local County governors (for Sklinna and Røst) and the local landowners at Muddvær, Vega. Ethical permits to catch birds and attach loggers were granted by the Norwegian Environment Agency and The Norwegian Food Safety Authority (FOTS ID 5148, 12163, 19570, 27473).
