: Healthy human blood used in the present study was utilized for research purposes only. The blood was drawn from one of the authors of the manuscript by technically trained persons, and a written consent letter was obtained. The Institutional Ethical Committee (Human Research), Alagappa University, Karaikudi, assessed and approved the use of the sample and experimental methodology involving healthy human blood (IEC/AU/2016/1/6). For hemolysin assay, fresh sheep blood was collected from a slaughter house in Karaikudi municipality, Karaikudi. Generally, the blood is discarded in the slaughter house and required no specific permission from the ethical committee.
