: This paper images and pathology slides from patients treated at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin. These patients were enrolled in the Future of Colorectal Cancer Surgery (FOCCuS1) study [NCT04220242]. Ethics approval was granted by the Mater Hospital research ethics committee. All patients provided written and verbal consent to participate in this study. The CLASSICA study (NCT05793554) was granted approval by the Mater Hospital research ethics committee as well as the local ethics approval committees of other participating centres.
