: All protocols used in this study were approved by the VCU Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) (Approved VCU IACUC protocol # AD10000310). Animals were maintained at the Central Animal Facility at the Virginia Commonwealth University according to standard guidelines.
: Male C57BL/6 mice 6–8 weeks old were obtained from Taconic Farms (Germantown, NY, USA).
: RM-1 cell line is an androgen-independent murine prostate cancer cell line. This model was generated by transduction of cells with the ras and myc oncogenes, yielding a poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma.
