: All tested great tits returned to normal activity (e.g., they entered the nest box to feed the chicks or they foraged for food) relatively quickly after the playbacks (usually within 5 min), so we were confident that they were not unduly stressful. All applicable international, national, and/or institutional guidelines for the use of animals were followed.The study was conducted with the approval of the Prefecture du Rhône (Ref. 2015-13) and complied with the ethical rules set by University Lyon 1 concerning the use of wildlife species in research programs.
