: Some study subjects or cohorts have been previously reported in the article titled “T2 relaxation values of the talar trochlear articular cartilage: comparison between patients with lateral instability of the ankle joint and healthy volunteers” (American Journal of Roentgenology, January 2016, Volume 206, Number 1). The subjects in this previously published article, 12 patients (13 ankle MRIs) and 12 healthy volunteers (13 ankle MRIs), were all included in the 38 subjects (40 MRIs) of our manuscript. The previously published article focused on T2 relaxation values in talar trochlear cartilage and their potential relation with lateral ankle instability. In the submitted manuscript, we reported our study result on T2 relaxation values in the subtalar joint (both talar and calcaneal articular cartilage), in which the role of compositional quantitative MRI measurement has not been established. Thus, we believe the submitted manuscript is different from the previously published article, which includes some of our study population.
