However, the subjects reported in this study represent the preliminary evaluation in our ongoing large-scale study, where we plan to enroll 100 normal and 100 cHTN pregnancies for a total sample size of 200 subjects. This sample size was calculated to provide a minimal detectable effect size of 0.5 with 80% power at a significance level of 0.01 (performed with Bonferroni correction due to multiple measurements).
