After the clinician prescribe routine preoperative enhanced examination, we first explain to the patient the purpose of adding amide proton transfer-weighted imaging (APTw) to the routine sequence for scientific research, and explained that such operation would not cause harm to the patient, but would extend the overall scanning time. After obtaining the oral consent of the patient and accompanying family members, we add the APTw to routine MR imaging protocol.
