: The prior study titled “Radiofrequency ablation for papillary thyroid microcarcinoma with a trachea-adjacent vs. trachea-distant location” () evaluated the outcomes of radiofrequency ablation for trachea-adjacent and trachea-distant papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC), which were performed at one institution. In contrast, the current multicenter study was conducted at three institutions and performed a new analysis of clinical outcomes after thermal ablation (radiofrequency ablation and microwave ablation) and partial thyroidectomy for paratracheal PTMC while also expanding the sample size and extending the follow-up period.
