: The study was approved by the Scientific Ethical Committee of the Region of Southern Denmark (ID: S-20162000-2,) and the Danish Data Protection Agency. Apart from visual mapping of the renal papillae the endoscopic procedure for stone management (RIRS) did not differ from standard surgical routine. Therefore, informed consent was waived. All procedures performed in the participants were in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional and national research committee and with the 1964 Helsinki declaration and its later amendments.
