: According to all relevant laws, regulations, and codes of practice in France, we had the authorisation of the Hospital Information Technical Agency (Agence Technique de l’Information sur l’Hospitalisation; ATIH) and National Commission on Information Technology and Civil Liberties (Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés; CNIL) to extract anonymous data from the PMSI and to perform this study, in accordance with the ethical standards as laid down in the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki and its later amendments or comparable ethical standards.
: Due to the retrospective nature of the study and the anonymization of this register, informed consent was not required.
