Declarations
:
: All procedures performed in studies involving human participants were in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional and/or national research committee and with the 1964 Helsinki Declaration and its later amendments or comparable ethical standards. The research was approved by the regional ethics committee in Linköping, with ethics permission numbers 2016–389-31 and 2020–06421.
: The individuals included in this study have been subject to previous routine forensic molecular autopsies. Since the individuals are deceased, obtaining formal consent is impossible. In accordance with the Ethics legislation and the Swedish transplantation law (SFS1995:831), a formal consent is not needed from relatives of the deceased, after ethical approval, since only already previously gathered material was used. In addition, all samples are pseudo-anonymized, making it impossible to trace any relatives of the deceased.
