: Patients from two studies were included in order to increase the sample size. The first study was approved by the Institutional Review Board “Comité de Protection des Personnes Sud-Ouest et Outre-Mer no. 2-11-0”. It included 20 patients with a thalamic stroke, younger than 80 years. Marginal extra-thalamic lesions were accepted in this study (this concerned three patients reported in [] with small lesions extending in surrounding structures of the thalamus). The second study was authorized by the “Comité de Protection des Personnes Ile-de-France IV” (Ethics Committee).
