: Porcine eyes were obtained from a local abattoir. No Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee approval was required because no animals were harmed or killed for the purpose of doing research. The eyes were transported and processed in compliance with the European regulation EC No. 1069/2009 (animal by-products regulation). They were kept in a hygienic and cool environment in a disposable insulated box immersed in potassium buffered saline. Before being dissected, they were disinfected with 5% povidone-iodine ophthalmic solution.
