: All sera of this study were collected according to the Declaration of Helsinki and after approval of the local ethics committee (patients with a mild course of COVID-19: Az 13-003; patients with severe course of COVID-19: Az 19-019/A, control sera: Az 19-310, University of Lübeck). Primary human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were isolated from voluntary donated umbilical veins (approved by the local ethical committee (Az 18-325).
