Ethics approval: All experimental procedures were conducted in accordance with the European Communities Council Directive (2010/63/EU) for the care and use of laboratory animals and were approved by the Ethical Committee and Animal Welfare of the University of the Basque Country (EHU) [M20_2020_282]. In line with the 3Rs principles, brain sections from the same animals previously used in related studies were reused when they contained the V1 region of interest; additional sections from the same animals were processed as required for the present analysis.
