Consequently, the study protocol titled “The effect of post-operative fluid management and sedation on the length of PICU stay after cardiac surgery: a retrospective cohort study” was approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the department of Intensive Care and Anesthesiology of the Leiden University Medical Center (N028). Patient informed consent was waived due to the retrospective nature of the study.
