: This study was approved by the Human Ethics Committee of Khon Kaen University (Reference no. HE591403). Patient anonymity was maintained. Specimens ofAscarisadult worms from pigs obtained from local slaughterhouses do not correspond to the criteria for observational and field studies, and therefore, a separate ethics clearance was not required for these. No vertebrate specimens were used.
