: Western tiger snakes were collected under Western Australia’s Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions Permit No. 08–002624-1. Curtin University’s Animal Research Ethics Committee approved the use of snakes for this research under Approval Nos. ARE2018-23 and ARE2020-15. Tasmanian snakes were collected as road-killed or dead captive specimens via donation from members of the public. No animal ethics was required for these animals.
