: The study protocol was reviewed and approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee of the Fondation Congolaise pour la Recherche Médicale (ethics clearance N° 03 I/CEÆCRNI/2020). Participation in the study was voluntary with written informed consent from each adult individual or parents (guardians) for participants less than 18 years old. All malaria positive patients were treated by the physician with artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) according to the WHO and national malaria control program guidelines.
