: The study protocol was reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committee for Animal Experimentation at Universidade Federal de Alfenas under Protocols 033/2021 and 0006/2023. Humanitarian endpoints, such as pain levels, apathy, disrupted feeding, and early signs of mortality, were strictly monitored for both models, following the Brazilian Guidelines for Care and Utilization of Animals established by the Conselho Nacional de Controle e Experimentação Animal (CONCEA).
