: This study was carried out in strict accordance with the recommendations in the Guidelines for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals of the Polish National Ethics Committee on Animal Experimentation, and according to the Polish national law for field work involving the trapping and culling of wild unprotected vertebrates for scientific purposes (Resolution No. 12/2022 of the Polish National Ethics Committee on Animal Experimentation, 11 March 2022). The study was performed according to the ARRIVE guidelines 2.0. All procedures in 2014 were carried out in accordance with the approval granted by the Local Ethical Committee for Animal Experiments in Warsaw (Resolution No. 706/2015), in compliance with the principles governing experimental conditions and the care of laboratory animals as required by the European Union and the Polish Law on Animal Protection.
