: The study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. The study was registered with the Region of Southern Denmark data protection agency (j.nr. 22/4403). The Scientific Ethics Committees for the Region of Southern Denmark confirmed that the project was not subject for approval, as it was based solely on questionnaire data (j.nr. 20222000-06). The board of the Danish Palliative Care Database approved that the registry data, stored in the database from specialized palliative care, were included in the project (DPD-2023-07-17). Data from patients in basic palliative care was obtained by written informed consent from all patients. Data were stored in OPEN – Open Patient Data Explorative Network [ ] license nr. OP_1551 and later transferred and analyzed in the Capital Region (p-2023-14476).
