: This study was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. Human colitis-associated colorectal cancer (CAC) specimens were obtained from the archival pathology tissue repository of Qilu Hospital, Shandong University. All cases had a documented history of ulcerative colitis and histologically confirmed colorectal cancer. The use of archived human specimens was approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee of Qilu Hospital, Shandong University, and the requirement for informed consent was waived.
