: Rats were kept in a well-ventilated, 12-h daylight/12-h dark cycle, constant temperature (21 ± 1 °C) rooms and sterile cages according to the standards. They were provided water and feed ad libitum. All pertinent International, National, and/or Institutional Guidelines for Animal Care and Use were adhered to. All events relating to animal studies were performed in accordance with the Ethical Standards of the Research Ethics Committee established for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (NRC ). The research was conducted in compliance with our university’s Institutional Guidelines for the Care and Use of Animals and Ethical Standards. Animals used in research were cared for in accordance with the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (NRC ) guideline. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
