Declarations
:
: All data used for this analysis were gathered as part of clinical routine. Due to the severity of SAH in the patients included in this project, taking consent at admission was not always possible. Furthermore, due to long-term sequelae and psychological burden caused by the initial SAH, taking consent from all patients was not reasonable. In line with national guidelines, written informed consent was therefore not sought from all patients. However, patients with documented refusal of participation in research projects were excluded from the analysis. Approval for this study was obtained from the local ethics committee on human research (Kantonale Ethikkommission, KEK, Bern, Switzerland, BASEC-Nr: 2022–00310) and the study conformed to the Declaration of Helsinki.
