: All the experiments in the study were performed following the guidelines of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for the care and use of laboratory animals, whereby it is mandatory to obtain prior approval of the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) before the establishment of any disease model of experimental animals. The entire study was conducted as per protocols duly approved by the IAEC of CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP), Lucknow. The animal experiments were conducted as per protocols CIMAP/IAEC/2020-23/14 (for antidiabetic activity) and CIMAP/IAEC/2020-23/22 (for safety studies), which were duly approved by the IAEC constituted under the Committee for Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CCSEA), Govt. of India. Also, the acute and sub-acute toxicity studies were performed as per OECD guidelines 423 and 407, respectively.
