: The present randomized clinical trial is part of an umbrella protocol approved by the Institutional Research Ethics Committee (Approval No. 3.725.829). This protocol was designed to encompass a research line on narrow-diameter implants for mandibular overdentures, enabling complementary investigations with different study designs, samples, and objectives. All procedures performed in studies involving human participants were in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional and national research committee and with the Helsinki declaration of 1975, as revised in 2013 and its later amendments or comparable ethical standards.
