: The Joint Commission on Ethics of Turku University and Turku University Central Hospital approved the research plan. Consent was obtained from the children’s parents. The National Police Board gave us permission to obtain information on violent offenses from the Finnish National Police Register. The register data were linked with the study subjects by the personal identification code given to all Finnish citizens and this was approved by the Data Protection Ombudsman.
