: Dr. Dumanian has ownership of Mesh Suture Inc (MSI) and is the inventor of mesh suture., the device evaluated in this manuscript. The Northwestern Department of Surgery received an unrestricted educational grant of $15,000 from MSI which partially supports Dr. Perez’s salary for the 2024–2025 academic year. The Northwestern Department of Surgery received an unrestricted educational grant of $15,000 from MSI which partially supports Dr. Hackenberger’s salary for the 2023–2024 academic year.
