: This study was conducted in accordance to the ‘Guidelines for the Treatment of Animals in Behavioural Research and Teaching’ (Animal Behaviour CitationRef removed) and to the ethics guidelines of France, where the project was conducted. All experimental procedures were approved by the French authority for animal care and use (APAFIS#7585–201610121409165) and by the institutional ethics committee (SBEA LEEC USPN). The individuals tested for their personality traits but not for their judgment bias were used for other experiments and for breeding. Animals which underwent the judgment bias test were euthanized at the end of the study, at postnatal day 87.
