: All participants have extensive experience in joining in eye-tracking studies and were tested in their usual testing rooms. Their participation in this study was voluntary. No changes were made to their daily care routine. Thus, they received regular feedings, daily enrichment, and had ad libitum access to water. This research was approved by the Wildlife Research Center Research Ethics Committee at Kyoto University (WRC-2023-KS006A for chimpanzees, and WRC-2023-KS007A for bonobos).
