: As an audit of an established clinical service, national research ethics approval was not required. The service was approved as a treatment for basal cell carcinoma by the North Bristol NHS Trust Clinical Ethics and Audit Committee for New Clinical Interventions and from the Bristol North Somerset South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) Joint Formulary Group. The audit was requested and approved by the former as part of clinical governance and for the North Bristol NHS Trust Division of Cancer Services. All patients received standard care as per that policy. All patient participants were informed about the nature and scope of the audit, and written informed consent was obtained from all patients for use of photographs in open publication including online use.
