: <i>M. rosenbergii</i> is neither an endangered species in China nor in other countries. During this study, all experimental procedures involving prawns were conducted following the approval of the care and utilization of animals for scientific purposes set up by the Institutional Animal Care and the Use Committee (IACUS) of Shanghai Ocean University, Shanghai, China. The prawns were sedated with ice before removing the tissue samples under ARRIVE guidance.
