: European sea bass experiments were performed in well-equipped fish facilities at the Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA, la Ràpita, Tarragona, Spain,). All animal procedures included in this project were conducted in compliance with an experimental research protocol approved by the committee of ethics and animal experimentation of the IRTA and the Catalan Government (project n° 12197, file n° FUE-2023-03496883 and ID SLNBB6432) based on Real Decreto 53/2013 and in accordance with the guidelines of the European Union Council (2010/63/EC) for the use of laboratory animals. IRTA is an authorized biosecurity facility to work with pathogens (NBS2) certified by registers numbers: EA-01/17 and IRTA-SCRT9900002 approved by Animal Protection Section (Catalan Government).
