: No fish were sacrificed in this study. All experimental protocols were approved by the Animal Care and Use Committees of Osaka City University for Advanced Studies and adhered to the ASAB/ABS Guidelines for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in Behavioural Research. Upon completion of the behavioural experiments, the fish were transferred to a larger tank and maintained in an appropriate rearing environment.
