: The field campaigns for conducting the surveys followed the guidelines for public use and scientific research in conservation units and other natural environments (ICMBIO et al. ), which recommended best safety practices for researchers and others involved in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. The protocol for the use of animals in research was registered and approved by the Ethics Committee on Animal Use (CEUA)-UFV through the process 22/2020.
