: All procedures of the fieldwork, including access to the specially protected area, marking nests, capturing, handling of birds, attachment of loggers, were approved by the Ministry of Environment (Bird and Beast Capture Permit, 2003043, 2103031, 2203041). The Agency for Cultural Affairs allowed changes of status of Natural Monument (4–1920, 2–1570, 3–2343) and Hokkaido Government allowed installation of the markers of the nests etc. in the Specially Protected Area (172, 2053, 3585). The procedures for bird handling and logger attachment were approved by Hokkaido University Animal Ethics Committee (16–0054).
