: Capture, handling, and marking of Houbara Bustards were authorised and conducted under permissions issued by the regional authorities (Consejería de Transición Ecológica y Energía, Gobierno de Canarias, licence 2015/10584). The weight of the logger plus harness material was below the commonly accepted limit of 5% of the weight of the birds. We did not observe stress signs in the birds as a result of marking. The methods used comply with the Spanish guidelines for ethical use in animal research.
