: All collections were made under permits issued by the Secretaria de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (SEMARNAT, SGPA / DGVS / 2404/19) and La Agencia Metropolitana de Bosques Urbanos. The Violet-crowned Hummingbird is not listed as endangered by any national or international wildlife conservation programme. No hummingbird was mistreated during the process, and handling and stress were kept to a minimum for the birds. All individuals were released immediately after sampling.
