: Our study does not include experiments on humans or vertebrate animals. The ticks used for the study were collected from companion animals by their keepers as part of hygienic procedures. The author that surveyed the development of ticks in the household had many years of experience in research on the development of ticks. In addition, the construction of rearing chambers guaranteed no threat to the health of the person monitoring the experiment. Therefore, the description of interrupted tick feeding included in this study is not a medical experiment and, based on Polish law and Good Clinical Practice, does not need Ethical Approval.
