: This research was guided by Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) ethical guidelines which prioritized ethical treatment of participants, ensuring no physical or psychological harm. The study procedures were determined to be low risk by Zimparks in accordance with their ethical guidelines, and informed consent was obtained from all participants. Necessary approvals were obtained from local authorities. Participation was voluntary, with informed consent obtained and documented before interviews and focus group discussions. Participants could decline or withdraw without consequence. Confidentiality and anonymity were assured, data was securely stored, and no personal incentives were offered beyond community feedback upon study completion.
